How does Airfree work? Airfree incinerates microorganisms at its heated capillaries. Contaminated air is dragged into Airfree’s ceramic core by air convection and microorganisms are destroyed at high temperatures regardless of how resistant and dangerous they might be.
Are there any side effects? No. Airfree’s new technology uses heat to purify the air. No side effects, no emissions, NO IONS, nor new particles are generated. Airfree should be used in all homes and offices quietly, constantly and efficiently purifying the air.
What is Airfree’s air cleaning capacity? Airfree P1000 was designed for rooms up to 450 sq. ft.; Airfree P2000 was designed for rooms up to 550 sq. ft; Airfree P3000 was designed for rooms up to 650 sq. ft.
Can I install Airfree in my walk-in closet? Yes, as long as it has at least 400cu.ft. Airfree should not be placed under shelves or its efficiency will be reduced. (As reference 400cu.ft is approximately 7’x7’
Can I use Airfree in air conditioned rooms? Yes.
Can I place Airfree at the corridor to reach the whole house? No. Airfree will just reduce air pollution in the corridor area.
Can I place Airfree in a closed room? Yes. Please remember such a room must have at least 400cu.ft
Is it necessary to keep doors and windows closed? No
Does Airfree eliminate bacteria and viruses? Yes. Unlike the air filters in the market Airfree is more efficient with smallest microorganisms as they are easily carried by Airfree’s airflow into its heated ceramic core.
Can I change Airfree from one room to another? No. Airfree must always be plugged in the same room 24 hours a day. Airfree’s patented technology works gradually and cannot have its cycle interrupted. Moving it from one room to another will interrupt the cycle.
Should I turn off Airfree when I leave house? No. Airfree must always be on.
What happens if Airfree is disconnected or there was a blackout? Airfree will take approximately the same time to recover the previous reduced contamination level.
Does CADR measure the effectiveness of the Airfree? Not at all. CADR is not designed to test the Airfree technology.

The AHAM seal (usually found on the back of an air cleaner’s box) lists three Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) numbers: one for tobacco smoke, one for pollen and one for dust. The CADR indicates volume of filtered air delivered by an air cleaner. The higher the tobacco smoke, pollen and dust numbers, the faster the unit filters the air.

The main reason why CADR is not designed for Airfree is because Airfree does not filter but destroys microorganisms instead, CADR only applies to volume of filtered air delivered by an air cleaner as stated above.

CADR does not measure microorganism reduction like mold and bacteria only detectable by a microbiology lab.

Airfree destroys (not trap or attract to other surface) any microorganism regardless of how small they might be. 99,99% of all organic particles are fully destroyed when passing through the Airfree U.S. patented ceramic core.
How does Airfree destroy dust mites? Mold reduction in the atmosphere causes a reduction in the mold dependant dust mite population. Airfree also destroys the harmful toxins and fungus freed by dust mite feces that trigger respiratory allergies.
How does Airfree eliminate fungi? Airfree eliminates airborne microorganisms including fungi and spores. By eliminating spores no new colonies will be formed, meaning less future fungi and spores in the air.
How does Airfree destroy viruses? Those microscopic microorganisms are easily eliminated inside Airfree’s ceramic core capillaries. Inside temperature of Airfree capillaries is triple the temperature required to incinerate them. Airfree is your largest ally in respiratory disease prevention.
Does Airfree release any gas or chemical product? No. Airfree’s sterilization process is natural. Click here for conclusive test Reports regarding particles and O3.
Does Airfree heat up a room? No. Airfree does not increase room temperature. To have an idea 2 Airfrees plugged in the same room will contribute as much heat as the presence of one adult in that same room.
Does Airfree cause any change in room’s the relative humidity? No.
Does Airfree need filter replacement? No. Airfree’s technology uses heat and not filters nor dangerous emissions.
Does Airfree consume a lot of energy? No. Airfree’s consumption is just 45 Watts for P1000, 48 Watts for P2000, and 52 Watts for P3000
Does Airfree anti-stress light interfere with Airfree sterilizing function? No. The anti-stress light has an aesthetic effect and can be relaxing too or simply used as a night light in children or newborn bed rooms. According to chromo therapy the blue light has calming and relaxing effect.
How does Airfree clean the air without a fan? Airfree's patented Technology TSS™ (Thermodynamic Sterilizing System) generates airflow quietly through air convection and sterilizes air at high temperatures. The airflow generated by Airfree happens by air convection and equals 14 m³/hr according to the SP Swedish National Laboratory test. Cooler and contaminated air is then continuously drawn into Airfree®. There is no need for a noisy fan.
Does Airfree reduce the necessity of dusting surfaces? A The operation of an Airfree unit does not eliminate the usual dusting frequencies. Airfree is not an air filter that “traps” dust. It incinerates dust particles turning them into harmless components.
Can a particle counter measure the Airfree efficiency? No. Airfree does not filter nor trap particles. The patented Airfree TSS technology is not a filter. Therefore, the particle counter is not designed to measure the efficiency of Airfree's technology.

Particle counters are used to count the quantity of particles at the outlet of an air purifier. As mentioned before, Airfree is not a filter and does not trap particles; therefore, the quantity of particles entering and exiting the unit will be pretty much the same. However - and here goes the explanation as to why the Airfree technology is efficient and the particle counter does not recognize it. In addition, the particle counter will not tell you if the particles are alive or not - harmful or not.

The Airfree TSS technology destroys microorganisms by combustion (application of high temperatures of around 400ºF) and hereby turns micro-organic contaminants into denatured particles. When organic particles are combusted, their proteins are denatured, i.e. the particles lose their original structure and are made harmless. These harmless particles are released back into the environment after the combustion process and are therefore still detected by the particle counter. However, as mentioned before, the counter will not tell if the particles are harmful or not, dead or alive. The claims Airfree makes on mold and bacteria reduction are backed by independent tests performed in real working environments.
Why does a dust mite allergic get better with Airfree? Basically, dust mite allergens, of which DERP1 is most famous one (skeletons, excrements), are lighter than dust mites. If they are lighter, they become airborne dust. Once they are airborne, they are destroyed by the Airfree. Another theory is that some dust mite species like D. farinae need yeast to help their digestion (1). Airfree reduces yeast and mold.

D pteronyssinus dust mites eat no fat, only human skin. If fat is found on the skin they need Aspergillus mold to help digestion. With Airfree, there is less mold available in the environment, therefore dust mites might starve. This is only a theory, very difficult to prove since tests would not separate living dust mite from the dead ones.
What is the amount of air that is moved per minute by the Airfree P3000? Will it exchange the air in a 344 sq. ft. room once a day? Once an hour? Please note that it takes around 5 hours for Airfree to silently circulate the air in a room of 344 sq. ft. at a ceiling height of 8 feet. Therefore, there will be around 4 to 5 air exchanges per 24 hours. However, what is of real importance to us at Airfree is how much less mold spores and bacteria will be in the room itself. More than 20 tests performed by independent laboratories in real working conditions proved an average microorganism reduction of 85 to 97% in the room.
